You make my heart smile

Hello and welcome!

I am back today after a little break away from crafting. I have been working on setting up some more crafty space to work in. Hoping it will be done soon.

Imagine how excited I was when Altenew asked if I would be interested in working on a collaborated post with them. I have always loved their beautiful products, so of course I said yes…how exciting!!!

For today’s project I focused on these gorgeous flowers from the Craft-A-Flower: Cistus Layering Die Set. The extra greenery is from the die set called Leaf Mix Die Set.

All the flower and leaf pieces were die cut from watercolor paper and then colored with Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set. Once these pieces were dry, I added some accents with gold craft paint.

I knew I wanted the flowers to be dimensional so I only glued them in the center portion. This would allow me to bend and curl the layers of petals.

I stamped the stripe background with the stamp set called Pinstripe Stamp Set. The eye catching shape I used for the sentiment base is from the Labels & Tags 2 Die Set. This piece was ink splattered with the same watercolor paints and gold craft paint that I used above.

The sentiment is from the Bold Bouquet Stamp Set. I also used the matching Bold Bouquet Die Set.

The black lacy border is from the Creative Edges: Scalloped Scallops Die Set.

I really love how this project turned out!!

Thank you so much for visiting today!

Miss You

Hello crafty friends!

I don’t know about you, but I really miss my family and friends!

My project today features some beautiful dies from Crafty Meraki’s new release. The fabulous flower die is called Kelsey Meraki Flora Para-Dies. I paired the flowers with the Timeless Frames Mini Slimline Die and a sentiment from the To-tail-ly Awesome Stamp Set.

My card base is slightly bigger than the largest die from the Timeless Frames Mini Slimline Die to accomodate the layered look.

The flowers were die-cut from Watercolour paper and were colored with the following watercolour pencils.

~Derwent Watercolour Pencils~
Gunmetal 69
Olive Green 51
Grass Green 47
May Green 48
Golden Brown 59
Naples Yellow 7
Rose Madder Lake 21

Once my flowers were dry I added a small piece of cardstock behind the center of the flowers so the cutout portion could be glued down. I then punched an 1/8″ hole in the center of each flower so I could glue the stamens in place.

I curled some of the edges of the flowers before attaching them to my card with double sided foam tape. I then stamped the sentiment from the To-tail-ly Awesome Stamp Set, matted it with matching green card stock and attached that to my card with foam tape. The sequins were attached with Ranger Ink Glossy Accents.

As always, you can find an abundance of products for inspiration for sale here.

Thanks for visiting today!

We’re Mermaid for Each Other

Hello everyone!

Seriously…how fun would it be to be a mermaid?  This adorable little mermaid couple is from Tiddly Inks Stamps.  For my guest design project this month, I will be joining the whole team in creating with these little sweeties.

Mermaid Couple

I printed the image at a height of 3.25″ on X-Press It Blending card and colored the little cuties with the following Copic markers.

Mermaid Couple1

I started with a card base is 5.5″ with the layers each being 1/8″ smaller.  The background is colored with watercolor paints on watercolor paper.  Once dry, I used the largest scalloped edge frame and the second smallest single stitch line square frame from My Favorite Things to create the texture for the background.

Mermaid Couple2

I created the sentiment in Microsoft Word (Sunny Day Font) and then die cut it with a sentiment strip die from My Favorite Things.  The seaweed dies are from Memory Box.  I cut them out of X-Press It Blending card and colored them with the Copic markers listed above.

This adorable image is free during the this month’s challenge.  You can find the image here.

Until next time!
